Soldier's claim SAS 'ordered' to kill Princess Diana ups pressure for murder investigation
PRINCESS DIANA was murdered in a job carried out “to order”, the SAS soldier behind the claim told his wife.





His description of a clinical mission adds to growing evidence that her death in a car crash was not an accident.

And it will heap further pressure on the Metropolitan Police to fully re-open the case.

The latest extraordinary details of the alleged plot have been recounted by the ex-wife of former SAS sniper Soldier N.

She has said he told her he knew all along that his colleagues were responsible for her death. But the soldier sought to justify it to her by saying: “It’s an order, a job’s a job.”

According to the sniper’s ex-wife, he told her Diana was allegedly murdered alongside her Muslim lover Dodi Fayed when a piercing light was shone directly at the car they were travelling in.

Now divorced, the soldier’s ex-wife was interviewed by Scotland Yard detectives last month and she told them that her former husband decided to confide all to her after taking Prince William, then 26, on an advanced driving course in 2008.

He told his wife he already knew of the alleged plot to kill her, but a face-to-face encounter with the young prince convinced him to open up to his wife for the first time.

During her police interview she is said to have told police: “We were talking about it (the driving course) and I was saying how lovely it was that Princes William and Harry were doing so well and that it was sad their mum wasn’t here to see it.

“Then he said to me one of the guys was responsible for the accident, for the death of Diana. I was shocked. I believed what he said.

“He went on to tell me that it had to be done in a tunnel, that people had been monitoring them (Diana and Dodi)...a light was shone in the driver’s eyes.”

And during the chat between them he also spoke about the top secret unit’s apparent ambivalence towards Diana’s death. She said: “When I asked how anyone could do something like that he said, ‘It’s an order, a job’s a job’.

“He said that it had to happen in the tunnel to guarantee death. He said that it looked bad so they left.”

Soldier N’s former wife claims he told her the hit was carried out by SAS soldiers riding motorbikes acting on orders from individuals from the “inner circle” of the Royal Family who disapproved of Diana’s burgeoning romance with Dodi.

Last month the woman and her mother met detectives to discuss the astonishing claims which were put to the authorities two years ago but ignored.

The women are said to have given senior detectives “compelling” accounts about the fatal crash in a Paris underpass in 1997, which also claimed the lives of Dodi, 42, and their driver Henri Paul, 41.

Diana’s personal bodyguard, former Paratrooper Trevor Rees-Jones, survived the crash.

The Mercedes Diana was travelling in smashed into a concrete pillar leaving the vehicle a mangled wreck of twisted metal. According to reports Diana, 36, was pregnant at the time and planning to whisk her young sons, William and Harry, away from Britain to start a new life abroad.

Soldier N swore his wife to secrecy but she later revealed the astonishing allegations to her mother.

The official police investigation into Diana’s death concluded all the evidence pointed to the crash being the result of a tragic accident.

However, a jury at a coroner’s inquest found Diana and Dodi were unlawfully killed as a result of “gross negligence” of their drink and drug-fuelled driver. Experts have said they have given the women’s powder-keg claims more credence as, crucially, the conversation between Soldier N and his wife is said to have taken place two years before the breakdown of their marriage.

When she was asked why she had not come forward with these claims before now, she told police she was ordered never to break her silence.

Allegations relating to the murder plot were made public in July after the court-martial of SAS sniper Danny Nightingale, a former friend and housemate of Soldier N. They were contained in a letter written by Soldier N’s mother-in-law and passed to Dyfed Powys Police in September 2011, but officers failed to act until the information emerged at Nightingale’s court martial.

Scotland Yard last night insisted it had not re-opened the case.

A spokesman said it was merely “scoping new information”.

Former Harrods owner Mohamed Al Fayed, 84, has repeatedly claimed his son and Diana were murdered on the orders of the establishment. Last week it emerged Soldier N’s former wife told David Cameron about the alleged Diana plot in a letter sent in February. Copies were also sent to the head of the Army, General Sir Peter Wall, and Defence Secretary, Philip Hammond.

Her mother first turned to police two years ago petrified about Soldier N’s violent behaviour.

Police later seized guns and ammunition. A military court jailed him for two years last May, but he was freed in July and discharged from the Army.

Lord Justice Scott Baker told the hearing: “More alcohol was recorded as discovered on the second search than on the first. There is no obvious explanation for this. You must consider whether there are any sinister implications.”

it seems someone was planting alcahol to make henri look like an alcaholic . they also said he took drugs which could affect his ability to drive . two things to be noted NO DRUGS WERE FOUND AT AUTOPSY and for a supposed alcaholic HIS LIVER WAS IN GOOD CONDITION . in a video at the ritz paul can be seen walking not staggering and even bending over to tie his shoe laces .
