Long-sealed JFK assassination files won't end conspiracy talk

WASHINGTON ? As the National Archives awaits final word from President Donald Trump on which Kennedy assassination files to release Thursday, one scholar who's already looked at the material sealed for 54 years says there's nothing to contradict the official conclusion: one shooter, acting alone.

"Count on it, there's no one else," said Hank Graff, a retired Columbia University historian. "We weren't the Warren Commission but we read so many of these documents, and you must know that Lee Harvey Oswald is the sole assassin."

Graff, now 96, was one of five members of the Assassination Records Review Board, the panel created by Congress in 1992 to dig through nearly 5 million pages on the murder of John F. Kennedy in Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963, and assess which to keep classified for another quarter-century.

The deadline to unseal all remaining files is Thursday, unless the president ? who happens to be spending Wednesday afternoon in Dallas to raise campaign funds ? deems them a threat to national security, intelligence gathering or foreign relations.

Trump appears ready to release most of the documents, though he's left open the possibility of keeping some of them sealed. Moments before he landed in Dallas on Wednesday, he promised via tweet that they will be "so interesting!" though at Love Field, he ignored questions about the documents.

Like many serious scholars, Graff is resigned to seeing conspiracy chatter persist. Longtime Trump adviser Roger Stone has long pushed full disclosure -- and the idea that Texan Lyndon Johnson, Kennedy's vice president, was part of the plot because he wanted to become president.

It's nonsense, said Graff, who wrote a book on Johnson.

"I spent days with him in the White House. Don't you ever doubt that he was scared to be president and had nothing to do with the assassination. ... Don't believe it," he said. "We don't want to believe that there are nuts out there, or that history is full of accidents. We have to think that there was a conspiracy in the government."

All but 3,100 files representing several hundred thousand pages have already been released, including a massive document dump in July that is still keeping researchers busy.

"I don't think there's anything left in the government files that will change what the Warren Commission decided," said Graff, who figures he personally read a few hundred thousand pages of nearly 5 million in the collection during the board's four-year life in the mid-1990s. "That's going to be shown. I don't think there's anything in those documents" that indicates otherwise.

The chairman of the review board, John Tunheim, now a federal judge in Minnesota, said much the same last week. There's no evidence of a conspiracy or a second shooter. "Everything points to Oswald doing it," he said.

Alan Dale, director of the Assassination Archives and Research Center ? a clearinghouse for JFK buffs ? said he'll be surprised if Trump unseals every last record, because the pressure from the CIA and other agencies is intense to keep much of the material classified.

Would that fuel suspicion of a cover-up? "Only to the extent that the government is covering something up," he said.

He chafed at the way assassination researchers have been dismissed as kooks over the years.

"There are vested interests among elements of the national security establishment that would prefer that serious scholars and analysts be pejoratively termed conspiracy theorists ? as if we're in the same category as people who are preoccupied with Big Foot or extraterrestrials," Dale said. "We are entitled to things that help us clarify one of the most important events of our nation's history."

He pointed to documents in the July dump pointing to an ongoing relationship between the CIA and Dallas' mayor at the time, Earle Cabell ? whose brother had been forced out of his job as deputy CIA director in 1962 after the Bay of Pigs fiasco.

"It's intriguing," he said, and while he doesn't suggest any connection to the killing, "we're interested in learning more."

Dave Perry, a retired claims adjuster who has spent decades researching the assassination, developing a reputation as "the grand debunker" of conspiracy theories to which he once subscribed, has spent countless hours digging through the July documents.

He's as eager as anyone to see more ? and confident they won't tamp down conspiracy talk.

"Absolutely not," he said. "There's a group out there that says a lot of the documents have been suppressed, which is true."

But plenty of material is already available, and like others who've studied the case, Perry expects the biggest bombshells to show that federal authorities had Oswald in their sights but didn't realize how dangerous he was, or coordinate efforts when there was time to avert the plot.

"I've got a lot of communication from CIA" in the days after the killing, "and they're in a full-blown panic, and I think the panic is, 'Oh my God, we should have notified the FBI,' " he said.

Both agencies had kept tabs on Oswald in New Orleans. The CIA knew about his trip to Mexico City weeks before the assassination, seeking visas to Cuba and then to the Soviet Union. The agency denied to the Warren Commission that it followed him there, Perry said, but years later, the CIA station chief wrote in his memoir that the agency knew Oswald was dangerous, and kept him under surveillance.

"The secret to this whole thing lies in Oswald's trip to Mexico City," Perry said.

the above article relies quite i bit upon the word of hank graff . i dont believe for a second when it comes to this case that we can or should simply take anyone at their word , especially if they are on the official side of things .

you first find out about the person who is telling you what you should believe and whether they have an agenda or a bias . because if they have one or both odds are what they tell you and what are the true facts will be two quite different things .

so mr graff , he was one of 5 men on the ARRB board . what he did and didnt do on that board and his logic while on that board should tell us all we need to know about mr graff and his logic / agenda or bias , lets see what doug horne and vincent gunn of the ARRB said about graff and the other 4 men on the board .

the following is from an article in which doug horne was asked 20 questions about his time in the ARRB and about his book on his time in the ARRB .

"6) Congress gave the ARRB the powers to subpoena records and require the sworn testimony of witnesses, powers that were apparently used sparingly. Why didn?t the ARRB utilize its powers to answer the outstanding questions related to the records?

D.H.: According to my boss, Jeremy Gunn, none of the Board Members believed there had been a conspiracy to kill JFK; their minds were made up before the ARRB began its efforts. Since they did not believe there was anything to be ?solved? or ?uncovered,? they were not engaged with the details of the medical depositions or the CIA depositions related to Mexico City.

None of the Board Members attended any of these depositions; they considered them to be academic exercises in ?clarifying the record.? They were motivated to release previously withheld records simply because they had an inherent dislike of excessive Cold War secrecy. They had a great interest in participating in an experiment in citizen review of goverment records, because all historians generally want to see more records released. I believed they thought they could do two things at once: restore faith in governmental institutions by releasing previously sealed records; and in the process, discredit unfounded conspiracy theories. This latter goal was, I am convinced, perhaps ?the? major hidden agenda of the Board Members.

It was not an official goal of the JFK Records Act, but it was clearly a personal desire of all five Board Members, whether they publicly admit it now or not. (Anna Nelson did admit it to one author circa 2000.) On the few occasions when Jeremy Gunn tried to brief the Board Members about some of the strange findings coming out of the medical depositions?about serious irregularities in the medical evidence?he told me he was summarily cut off by several Board Members, who didn?t want to hear about any reasons to doubt the official record of what had happened. They had closed minds about the JFK assassination; generally trusted the Warren Report?s conclusions; and were only interested in releasing records (without comment) and placing them in the Archives.

They were completely unwilling to stretch the envelope and engage in any activities that could have been viewed as a reinvestigation?this was forbidden by the JFK Records Act. Jeremy Gunn and I were damned lucky that these five Board Members let us play in our medical evidence ?sand box? as much as they did. Four of the five Board Members were almost completely unaware of the results we were gathering, and wished to remain so. This is what happens when G. Robert Blakey is allowed to write legislation which forbids a reinvestigation of the case, and which allows an establishment which is more interested in institutional stability, than in truth, to nominate the Board Members."

so what did we learn about mr graff from that ? . we learned that graff and his other 4 ARRB board members from the start (and even before the ARRB started its work ) were staunch non conspiracy believers , now i wonder how they all got on that board ? lol lol .

so graff apparently a scholar , a man whom we should take note of and listen to about jfks assassination is a staunch warren commission apologist and non conspiracy believer . so much so that he expressed a desire that HE DIDNT WANT TO KNOW OR BE TOLD ABOUT ANYTHING DIFFERENT THAT WAS FOUND IN THE FILES OR IN THE DEPOSITIONS TAKEN . in fact he and his 4 fellow ARRB board members didnt listen to a single word of any deposition . and why ? lol BECAUSE THEY HAD LONG SINCE DECIDED THE WARREN COMMISSION WAS RIGHT AND THAT THERE WAS N CONSPIRACY .

"restore faith in governmental institutions by releasing previously sealed records; and in the process, discredit unfounded conspiracy theories" doug horne

that was objective of the 5 men on that board including graff . by the way one usually would research whether something has a foundation or basis in fact BEFORE they dismiss it unless of course they have an agenda or bias , graff and his fellow board members had BEFORE they even sat on that board a bias against conspiracy and for the warren commission , and when they sat on that board they had an agenda . that agenda was to release CERTAIN files , but the point of it was to get people to believe they could trust their government again while also hoping to discredit conspiracy theories .

reminds me of a guy i once spoke to on youtube , a rather well known guy there in terms of him having a lot to say and saying it far to often and too loudly . but in essence he made it clear from the start from his comments that he was a non conspiracy guy , he attacked anyone and any notion of conspiracy , and said he started research with an agenda to prove there was no conspiracy lol . i spoke to him and congratulated him on being so open minded LOL . i questioned him on his level of research , that is what volumes or reports he had studied , his reply ? NONE , i asked if he read this book or that book , his reply ? NO . so i said you havent studied word one of ANY official report or the atleast 40 volumes available , you havent read ANY of the major books , so i asked him WHAT WAS THE BASIS FOR HIS STANCE ? . he wasnt just saying HE DIDNT BELIEVE IN A CONSPIRACY he was saying I CAME HERE TO PROVE THERE WAS NO CONSPIRACY and is it turned out he had no sound research basis for this , he just decided what he decided lol and he didnt want to know or hear about or be told anything to the contrary . now you can see why he reminds me of mr graff lol .

so on the basis that mr graff had a non conspiracy agenda , on the basis that he had an agenda to restore faith in government institutions that lied to and deceived the people , on the basis that he had an agenda to discredit any notion of conspiracy , on the basis that he didnt hear or read word one of the depositions and that he had zero desire to know what information came from them SHOULD WE PUT A LOT OF FAITH IN ANYTHING HE SAID IN THIS ARTICLE ? . also didnt the dallas news so called journalists bother to check mr graff out before they printed what he said ? , any good honest journalist would thoroughly check , so either they are very poor journalists or they set out to deceive .

"The chairman of the review board, John Tunheim, now a federal judge in Minnesota, said much the same last week. There's no evidence of a conspiracy or a second shooter. "Everything points to Oswald doing it," he said. "
above is one of graffs fellow ARRB board members lol , there is he says no evidence of conspiracy BUT THEN WE KNOW AS FACT THAT HE DIDNT LOOK FOR ANY AND INDEED DIDNT WANT TO KNOW . this is what masquerades as journalisim in america .

Alan Dale, director of the Assassination Archives and Research Center ? a clearinghouse for JFK buffs ? said he'll be surprised if Trump unseals every last record, because the pressure from the CIA and other agencies is intense to keep much of the material classified.

the above bit of the article relates to comments by alan dale . i know alan as i have been a member of atleast 2 jfk forums that he was involved in . he is a highly intelligent , well read and very well researched man . i can assure the people reading this that where it comes to reading and researching jfks assassination that alan is very likely better read than all 5 of these biased agenda driven ARRB board members put together .

alan is correct 100% . there is and has been a government and media driven effort for decades now that still continues . it was started by the CIA (there is a document to prove it ) . in effect to dismiss and discredit any notion of conspiracy by pretty much any means good or bad true or not   . ill post that document in another thread .

the last piece of the article relates to dave perry . lets have a little look at mr perry .

dave perry has participated in a few LONE NUT OSWALD DID IT documentaries with the late gary mack . let me just point out that the late mr mack WAS firmly on the conspiracy side , if you have ever viewed the tv series the men who killed kennedy , in fact he is one the people responsible for giving us BADGEMAN , a figure that looks like a policeman firing at jfk from behind the fence . mr mack clearly figured it was more profitable for him and better for his career to be on the NON conspiracy side of the debate . this started when he took the curators job at the 6th floor museum in dealey plaza , a job turned down by robert groden who was the original man who was offered the position . groden (groden is the only reason we have some autopsy photos today) was told that the job title came with non negotiable conditions , which were that he had to drop his own pro conspiracy work / research and push the lone nut official version of events , GRODEN DECLINED . mr mack was quite happy to do what groden would not . mack not only became the 6th floor curator , but he became the face of discovery channels jfk documentaries , i will try and post some reviews of those videos on a different thread or threads .

mack went on to try to drive groden out of dealey plaza . you see groden sits up on the knoll , he sells dvds etc and people come to him to get the facts they dont and wont get in the 6th floor museum . groden is the man that painted the white x on elm street marking the points where jfk was shot . mack with the help of the dallas police went to town on groden badgering him having him arrested for not having a permit WHEN NO PERMIT EXISTS OR IS NEEDED BY HIM TO SIT ON THE KNOLL . groden has had to fight a long battle with the late mr mack and the 6th floor museum , they wanted and want groden gone , WHY ? because they want people to ONLY hear their lone nut official story . all this begs the question why IF ALL CONSPIRACY BELIEVERS are nuts and kooks as we hear all to often why then is it that the 6th floor museum wanted to hire two of the main conspiracy advocates of the last 3 or 4 decades ? . well they think the lure of money will get them over to the lone nut side (this worked with dale myers and mack )  , thats one reason and also because if they get groden or mack to switch sides THEY ENSURE via their contract that they drop all pro conspiracy talk and support the lone nut official story .

you will see me say a lot that when you understand the lone nut mentality that you will understand their logic and see exactly what they are about and what they are trying to do . back to mr perrry a good pal of the late gary mack as we shall see .

ive mentioned in another thread about time lines and time trials , one of these was gary macks 6th floor to 2nd floor time trial . in this mr mack said that it was a real time experiment , with one camera and a real time clock on screen , gary macks oswald stand in got down to the 6th floor in about 47 seconds . now to the layman (not researched ) and to people who dont know what to look for that video looked 100% plausible , and that is the point , they are not making these videos for well researched people that know they are bunkum , they are making them to deceive and gull people with no research . before i go further have a guess who was involved in his video time trial with mack ? MR DAVE PERRY .

so what happened ? . well mack used a different building even tho he had access to the real depository building . the building he used DID NOT have the same layout or dimensions as the depository . anyone who has seen tom alyeas film taken that tragic day on the 6th floor will know it was brim full of boxes of books stacked up high , all of which had to be negotiated , there was no simple straight run to 5th floor stairs . in macks video the floor is all but empty with just a few boxes on the floor nearby . macks oswald standin gets up from the window makes his way to the 5th floor stairs door and drops the rifle on the floor . so whats wrong with that picture ? i mean aside form having nearly no boxes for the oswald standin to negotiate ?  . well both mack and perry knew that one of their star witnesses (howard brennan ) said he saw the man in the window with the rifle and that he paused there AFTER THE SHOTS to admire his work . macks standin made no such pause .

so so far , THE WRONG BUILDING with wrong dimensions , ALL BUT NO BOXES when the 6th floor was choc a block with them . the oswald standin NOT PAUSING AT THE WINDOW when mack and perrys own star witness said the shooter paused at the window . now the oswald standin merely dropped the rifle on the floor and then left the 6th floor . would you be surprised to learn that CONTRARY to what the video in question shows the real rifle WAS NOT found on the floor having been dropped there ? . the rifle was found in an area full of boxes , with boxes all around it , above , below and at the sides and covered with paper etc , so it wasnt dropped it was quite well hidden . all of the above takes time , time that mack and perry didnt want added to their time trial BECAUSE THEY WANTED OSWALD DOWN STAIRS AS FAST AS THEY COULD GET HIM .

so mack and perry got the oswald standin down stairs from the 6th floor to the 2nd in 47 seconds , and they did so in real time using one camera and a real time clock . UM NO THEY DIDNT lol lol . one camera can only film in one direction , the film shown was a montage of different angles and it wasnt even real time . they snipped together a montage of different film , then played that along side as real time clock that showed 47 seconds , this is not real time ITS DECEPTION and guess what perry himself admitted they did this . oh and each floor of the depository has a landing , so you leave the 6th floor and cross a landing and enter the 5th floor stair case , so thats 4 landings that have to be crossed that mack and perrys video made no allowance for . in fact the building they used didnt have these same landings , which mack later had to admit . the warren commission conducted time trials in THE REAL BUILDING the fastest they could get from the 6th to the 2nd floor was 1 minute 14 seconds . mack and perrys video is bogus , they set out to deceive . out and i believe their oswald standin was a fitness trainer , well every little helps if it gets him down stairs faster lol .

the gruesome twosome combined again for a time trial from oswalds rooming house to 10th and patton a distance just shy of a mile . the warren commission did a time trial and they took 17 minutes to walk the distance . mack and perry timed two routes , the shortest route and the route that the  commission and most witnesses said officer tippits killer took . the shortest route took 12 minutes plus and the longest was 16 to 17 minutes . the official radio call to tell the police that tippit was dead was logged at 1.16 and we know that this had to have been several minutes after the actual shooting . so mack on film said 16 to 17 minutes was too long , so guess what  ? lol they went with the shortest route because they could do it in about 12 minutes . lol lol . in fact what mack and perry didnt mention was that they started the oswald standin walking at 1pm , oswald only arrived home at 1pm or a tad shortly after . he stayed 3 to 4 minutes in his room according to his landlady . he then left . a minute or so later oswalds landlady gets up and goes to the window and looks out , who does she see STILL OUTSIDE at the bus stop ? OSWALD . none of this is mentioned by mack and perry for obvious reasons . which are they would then have to add 4 or 5 minutes to the 12 minutes they had which would mean the time was as long as the longest route that mack had dispensed with .

now we can see the short of deceptions that mr mack and perry got up to . and the article i posted just takes mr perry at his word , the so called journalists didnt check to see if he was pushing an agenda .

for more on mr perry please read my thread on this forum called DEEPER INTO DAVE PERRY . but this is the importance of checking the accuracy of what you are told and view and read BEFORE you accept it
